Their are some very rare and nice guns I never want to take possession of, but unfortunately some day, hopefully a long time, I will have to, really sorry for your loss. My parents also have other interest that I will have to get outside advice on.
 
Celebrate her life, apparently well lived, and be glad that she had that revolver when it counted. That one time was priceless.

When you look at this revolver in the future do not remember your pain at this time -- rather the comfort you provided to her through the years through your selfless act.
 
Condolences to you and your family sir. What you did for your Mom should make any Mom proud of her son, for doing likewise. After my Dad passed, I gave Mom a little Ruger Bearcat .22 for her nightstand. She was comforted by it, and I got it back like you did, some years ago.

I am very sorry for your loss and my prayers go with you.
I loss my Mother when I was 15yrs old and still think about her every day even though I am now 60 yrs old.
