I cruised one of my favorite LGS today to check on a 4513 TSW I have for sale on the used-consignment shelf ($1k with four mags, I am surprised it has not moved) and I spotted a very clean looking Chief Special for a decent price. I took a closer look. Zero blue wear, just the hint of a turn line, correctly timed all around, very tight crane fit, in beautiful shape at a very decent price. So I bought it. A little less than $700 OTD with the CAL and FED BS. It had just hit the shelf, has not even cleared DOJ yet so I am pretty happy all things considered. It is a plain-Jane with very nice, clean factory furniture, 2" bbl. Photos will follow when I pick it up, which won't be for at least 3 weeks. Life is hard. The strange thing is I am not even a big J-frame fan, I prefer the small Colts. They fit my hand better and point better for me. I figure when CA outlaws civilian possession of semi-automatic pistols because they are EVIL I want to be in a good position.

It's a sickness with no cure. Just have to control it the best you can. Speaking from experience; I know how you feel. But, life's too short. Enjoy your new gun.

And, jeez, I thought MD was awful with its seven day wait! That seven days crawls by, three weeks must seem like forever.

The "normal" wait for the purchase is ten days, but it still needs 30 days for DOJ to clear it when it is offered for sale, just to make sure it isn't stolen or some sort of inherently evil assault weapon that nobody knows about yet. The store can put it on the shelf immediately but can not actually release it for sale (process the 4473) for at least 20 days, so the last ten days runs concurrently with the ten day wait for the purchaser to clear DOJ.

I feel your pain. I went on a little bit of a gun bender recently. But I have no other vices, and they are investments if you play the long game.

Bummer on the extended wait time. I remember thinking the 3 day wait on handguns in PA BITD was a PITA. Now I walk out as soon as the check clears.

Yep, I'd rather have natural immunity from the disease by getting it often, as compared to getting a shot.......nice gun.
