I held a compact....

See no advantage to a Shield over a 9c. 9c is good for carry or range, hard to beat, most accurate 9 I've ever had.

I was able to qualify with my M&P 40c from targets ranging from 3 to 25 yards for my two day California CCW NRA course. I have large hands and purchased magazines with the extra finger grip and I also change the back grip to better fit my hand and I qualified. The M&P 40c is a very excellent gun and the way S&W designed, it makes it easy to adjust it to fit comfortably in most individual's hand. I highly recommend this gun for self-defense!

I picked up my compact and took it to the range. First(from the right) is at five yards. Others was at seven yards. The trigger obviously not broken in. But I did notice myself limp wristing a couple times.

At least it felt like I was limp wristing. I don't have any problems with my full size or shield. It was wierd.

No offense intended. It looks as if you are right handed? If so, those targets look like you are tightening your grip. (Tight enough groups tho)

I know you are experienced, different gun and trigger make a difference. Dry fire has helped me tons. I'm working on a DA snubbie for trigger control now.

I may have been righting my grip. Trying to keep the odd feeling from happening. The thought also crossed my mind that the slide might have been coming all the way to the rear and "bottoming out". Maybe that was what I was feeling instead of limp wristing. Yes I am right handed. As for the moment I'm blaming the low and left to the "brand new heavy" trigger. As I did the same thing with my full size for awhile. Now that trigger is like butter, and I'm dead on. And practice helped to.
