I just ate moldy cheese....and lived

The question should be... Would you eat broccoli with moldy cheese sauce now? :p

Oh, and the only dog that's mine, my German Shorthair....she'd give him to you now.
Jim[/QUOTE]

Will that dog hunt?

Age?

Will he eat moldy dog food?

P.S. How many legs?

:D

Good dogs.

Heck, yeah, he has a great nose. Loves to hunt pheasants. Unfortunately there ain't many here right now.
Got him, free, as a pup about 4 years ago.
Missus Fan hates him because he's so hyper. Also she says his poop stinks worse than any she's ever smelt.

I still like him though.
When I assume room temperature youcan have him though.
Jim

I grew up with some people (older) who lived through WWII in Italy. They said that often they had to eat food which was partly moldy or bad. They just cut off the mold/bad parts and ate the rest to survive.

I once ate one of those Cheese Wiz things they call a Philly cheesesteak @ Geno's in South Philly. I've had better cheesesteaks in McDonalds

Sorry, no Cheese Wiz (Whatever that is) for me. The real thing or nothing, I get mine at Dominoes in Revere, MA. Great sandwich.

A handful of crumbled Gorgonzola on ANY steak makes that steak better. Toss on top of steak while on the grill and cover with a pot lid for the last 2-3 minutes to melt cheese. MMMMMM. Got my mouth watering just thinking about it.

Update:
It's been a week now....still alive.

Just got another block of it today when I went back to the farm.

I do live dangerously.
Jim

Oh well, the French has been doing that for centuries, and they flat out refuse to lay still like any polite corpse would...
Come to think about it, I've done it too, for nearly 30 years, and I'm still typing here. :D

I have good friends who own a dairy farm. They sell cheese and had some that was wrapped but had a little mold on it. I took it home and Missus Fan was horrified. I cut a hunk off and ate it. She's just
sure I'll be dead soon.
Am I the only one who lives on the edge like that?
Jim

I hear ya. But can you prove you are alive? Maybe green moldy cheese gives the recently departed hallucinations.......... :D

Still here, still alive.
Missus Fan is disappointed. She was gonna list all my revolvers on here.
You guys better be good to her when I do kick. She's a looker.
Jim

Yesterday my friend had some more, this time Cheddar. It had WAY more mold in it than the white cheese I had before.
Missus Fan about barfed when I sliced off a hunk with my Spyderco knife and ate it.:D

I just love living on the edge.

You should have gone to the joint across the street, which also claims to have invented the Philly. And tried it with provolone and jalapenos.

Cheez Whiz is aptly named, except for the "Cheez" part. I can't stand the stuff.

It's a gub'ment conspericy I tells ya

I wondered what happened to Liederkranz. I always thought it was a kind of detuned version of Limburger. Speaking of which, can still be had, although it is getting expensive. I just had some yesterday.

The stronger flavored (sharp) cheese is usually made from raw milk (unpasteurized). There is a natural enzyme in milk that is lost when it is pasteurized. Along with the acid fixating bacteria (starter) that enzyme is what produces the cheese flavor. It is truly a controlled spoilage similar to fermentation.

There are now laws & regulations & such forbidding such unhealthy products from being shipped or sold. They're watching out for us, don't-cha-know? The only way to get raw milk or any product made from raw milk is to go right to the producer.
