I just got a 29-2!!! D.O.B. Request

Long time lurker first time poster here... I just stepped onto the Model 29 train. After several months of research, I finally dropped the hammer on a 6" Model 29-2. It was a Cabela's gun; but in my estimation, I got a fair price. I picked it up for $825 after taxes. The gun locks up tight. As far as bluing wear, there's a barely perceptible turn line on the cylinder. Other than that it perfect. There was no clamshell or tools, but it did come with a plastic hardcase. How do ya'll think I did on the price?

The serial number is N814567. Can any of you tell me when it was shipped?

Welcome to the Forum.
Only S&W can tell you when it was shipped, but the Catalog says it was made in 1981.
Sounds like you got a decent deal there.
