I JUST HAD to have one of these!!

Diamondback, wonder how Sal is going to react to that "rather have it over a 27" statement. It will, indeed, be an interesting respose I'll bet. Sal, you out there?

regards

Bill

Since this thread has included mention of the Model 27, and everyone knows the classic M-27 is the 5" version (LOL), a combination of that perfect barrel length and the M-25, or in this case a pre-M25 "45 Cal Model of 1955", I thought you all might like this photo:

I must confess that shortly after getting this gun and taking it to the range a few times, I returned it to my gun smith to have the Patridge front sight turned into a ramp. That Patridge blade gouged enough leather from every 5" holster I tried it in that I thought one of them would be cut through at the sight track. Need to get a new picture with the improved (for holster use) front sight.

Well done. I aquired my 25-5 this year also. It is close in condition to yours. I love it and have had it to the range several times. They are an attention getter.

Really nice.

I think a S&W revolver in 45 ACP is one of the best revolvers a person can have.
I prefer it over any Mod 27.

Every one is entitled to an opinion and I absoultey can, I understand yours and support your right to say it... :):):)

Now if you will excuse me... I have to go wash my eyes out with clorox.. for just reading this post..;):D:D:D:D

Arrrrrrrrg:D

Best..

Sorry Sal...

However, you might just find that you too will like the Mod 25 in in 45 ACP better than a 27...

Now there is nothing wrong with a 27, In fact I think that the 3 1/2" Mod 27 is the Classic S&W revolver.

I have owned a 4" Mod 28, a 6", and a 8 & 3/8" Mod 27. They were great revolvers. I really like the checkered top straps on the Mod 27's.
But...
It is just that I am not a 357 kind of guy. I have nothing against them, I do not "Hate" ANY S&W Revolver. I like them all.

I just prefer the 44 Mag and the 45 ACP's...

So SAL, I would advise you to be careful.. You just might discover just how great a S&W in 45 ACP really is.

Even if it does not become your favorite over your beloved Mod 27's, you may find it becomes your second favorite...

Just keep us posted.

Just to set the record straight, My favorite S&W Revolver is one in 44 Mag.

My second favorite is one in 45 ACP.

However, I do think Everyone should have a S&W Bodyguard, or other suitable J frame, to carry in your pocket...

Now if your favorites are Mod 27's or K frames, or you want only J frames,

I say What ever You like...

There is nothing wrong with a little Humor, and fun among S&W Lovers.
