I keep reading about theres a Gen three Recall, is there a list to check?

Hi all.

I keep seeing post talking about if your pistol was or has the recall done.

I guess I am a little behind the curve here, can someone bring me up to speed as to years involved, what models and is there a list of the ones recalled?

The only Gen 3 recall I am aware of is the 6906 grip. If there's a little punch mark, the grip is good no punch grip could crack if dropped the wrong way, as if there's a right way to drop your pistol.

Call smith and wesson direct and give them the serial number off the gun.

All frame decocker models (5926, 1026, 1076 etc.) were recalled back in the early 90's. I have sent 2 guns in for this recall work in the last 2 years.

Thank you'all for the information. I called S&W and there rep said most on the third gens were in the recall. The two 6900 series pistol I have I have replaced the grips with new factory grips that have the dimple.
My 4006 and my 5904 both need new grips, but there currently out of stock.
So I have the part number and will call every couple weeks, as he said they will be making a run of them.
I will have to but the one for the 4006, as it has a Hogue rubber one, so hopefully I will get one for free, we will see.
