I love the store brands, just got another

Tenite! That’s the ticket! Not sure where I got Rynite from? Anyone familiar with the Ted Williams brand? I’ve seen lever action 30-30’s with that name and seem to recall they were Winchester production. The only difference being the markings and the use of hard wood rather than walnut for the furniture. If so those would make for a good deal if one’s looking for a lever gun and doesn’t want to pay Winchester prices.

The Ted Williams line replaced the older JC Higgins brand name in the mid 60's iirc. A lot of them were made by Winchester. I have owned one of the pump shotguns and a couple of the lever actions over the years. The stock styles are slightly different than the Winchester name brand versions but they are mechanically identical. They really are a bargain and can sometimes be picked up for good bit less than the same gun with the Winchester name on it.

That might have been a Marlin model 90. I had a Ranger marked one in 16 ga years ago. Never should have sold it.

That was a Sears exclusive,,Marlin didn't even market the 'Marlin' marked gun till after WW2.
They just made the Ranger marked o/u and only allowed Sears to sell them from their beginning production in the mid 30's.
Sears put up quite a bit of $$ to get the gun into production including design work.

Decent basic O/U.
Striker fired, coil spring action. Not an FN O/U by any stretch, but not meant to be either.

I passed on a 16ga version at a small show this past week end. Likely would have bought it for around the $400 price if I didn't already have a 'project' 12ga Ranger o/u w/2 sets of bbls sitting there already.

They made a few fancy upgraded versions and a 'SkeetKing' grade for it's namesake. I think actor Robert Stack used to be in the adv for that model.

A few O/U rifle/shotgun versions and very few O/U double rifles in small calibers were made.
We had boxes and boxes of NOS parts for all gauges of the Model 90 including semi finished & finished sets of bbls. Shotgun sets all gauges, the shotgun/rifle and double rifle sets all in storage at the North Haven plant. All going un-used. The factory word out to customers was that no parts were available for that model to do any repairs.

Love your new gun. What a buy at $150.

I have a JCHiggins 16 gauge bolt action I paid $15 for a long time ago. I like the store brands too.
