Took the 15-22 to the range on Saturday and all I can say is that this has to be one of the best gun purchases I've ever made.

Out of the box I fired about three hundred rounds of Remington Thunderbolts and a few Winchester Dynapoints. I'm happy to report that this little gun performed flawlessly. The last two 25 round mags I fired as fast as I could to see if I could induce some kind of malfunction and it handled it with no problem. Gun is cleaned, mags are loaded and I'm looking forward to my next range visit.

On a side note I'd like to add that I bought this gun with the intention of my wife and two daughters being the primary users. Now I'm thinking they better get their own if really want to shoot it :) But seriously, that was my original intention because I have an M261 adapter for my AR15 and I bought four Black Dog mags for it. I was pretty excited about shooting .22 out of my AR with high cap mags because I was never too fond of the ten round inserts that the kit uses. When I went to hand cycle the BDM mags through my AR, every single round was a FTF. Most of the tips were getting deformed or the rounds would just stovepipe and get bent by the bolt. Turns out I had to grind some of the material from the feedramp of the brand new mags to get it to feed reliably  After some tweaking with a Dremel, I was able to successfully hand cycle the Remington Thunderbolts, but not the Winchester Dynapoints. We'll see what happens when I actually shoot the thing.

What a contrast. Makes me want to bail on the M261 and just shoot the 15-22.

Owning a 15-22 you really dont have much need to bother trying to shoot .22LR out of your AR :) As far as cheap training goes just equip the 15-22 the same way you have the AR equiped and any muscle memory you hone with the 15-22 should transfer just fine to its big brother.

I'm spending so much time with mine, my wife's getting jealous :D An M&P 15-22, a fresh brick, and some reactive targets.... the most fun you can have with your cloths on!

The first time my GF & I went to shoot my new 15-22 she looked like this.....

... just before she turned to me and said: "I really like this new rifle... now you'll have to go get one for yourself!"

Thats awesome man . Now you just gotta tell her to keep that chicken wing down :p I bought a cheap m16 airsoft replica recently to get my girlfriend used to the mechanics of shooting. She's about to graduate the the 15-22 hehe.

I hear ya. I haven't shot that much over the past 7-8 years and got quite a bit of sticker shock when I started checking into the price of ammo  That's the reason why I started looking into shooting .22. The one thing I'm concerned about is developing an addiction -- I'm already starting to think that one 15-22 is not enough :)

Fun is the first word that comes to mind when I think about shooting the 15-22. I am anticipating a lot more range visits because of this gun.

Haha. That's the same response I expect to hear from my wife or daughters when they get a chance to shoot the 15-22.

Let us know when she commandeers your 15-22 :)

That was exactly what happened to me, BUT... I had bought the 15 22 for my wife as my .223's are "too loud" and kick to hard for her. After firing a few mags with the 15 22. I turned to my wife and said the same thing your GF said to you lol.

I have been thinking about getting one for my grandson and myself. Are there any good "deals" to be had either on the internet or should I just go to a gun store. Also, what should I expect to pay? Thanks for any help.

Jetguns.com just raised their prices from 354 to 400 shipped. Still not bad seeing how I paid 489.98 out the door at my local store for a DUU threaded barrel non MOE version.

Mmmmmm... Chicken wings.... Hehehe... She's actually got pretty good shooting form when she's not bracing herself against the tailgate of my truck to steady the shot :) If I remember correctly, she was shooting 2-3 inch groups at 25 yards that day (while I was just trying to see how fast I could mag-dump :D )
