I"m not buying any more .22LR Ammo!

I plan on going over $1k for the parts that i want:
Spikes Tactical strip lower-$125
CMMG Lower Kit-$125
Magpul Buffer Tube with Stock-$100
MP15T Complete Upper-$800

Total:$1150 ;)

So i think it would be a win/win having a .556 and a .22 AR to go shooting with.

Dont get me wrong i love my 15-22 especially with the slidefire stock on it, but i think if i can spend this much on ammo why not spend it on another rifle that i built myself instead of buying one off the shelf.

I just bought a m&p 15T for $1039 awesome rifle for the money plus I had been stocking up on 223/556 ammo since before I bought my first ar (bushmaster carbon) but the 15-22 still gets the most attention at the range :D

I've easily spent 1K on 22 LR and 22 WMR ammo this year; it would have been a lot more if every store I stopped at would have had ammo for sale.

Lets not even factory the price of the gasoline or the lost hours spent standing in line at various stores.

↑ Hahahaha, now that's funny! I stopped buying .22 ammo once I did an inventory and realized how much I had. It's easy to get carried away and not realize that packs of 300-1000 rounds add up real quick.
I've moved on to building up my stash of .45 ammo as I love my pistols almost more than my rifles, lol.

I think the OP meant he has spent $1k on .22lr....

An early poster thought he said 1k rounds, not dollars, so the question was "How can you build an AR for the cost of 1,000 .22lr rounds?"

And we've all been slightly confused since.... :)

You cant build an AR right now for a grand. You can buy one already built for that though. I highly recommend an M&P-15.

You can build an AR-15 for under a grand right now. I can order everything needed to build one right now for around $750.

I have a little ammo I hold back, but stock up ain't going to happen we like shooting too much.
I am interested in sub-sonic 22 LR.

I've been waiting for everyone to buy up all the expensive ammo and now that it seems to be a little more available, I'll wait just a bit more and spend my money on cheap (comparatively speaking over the last 6 months) ammo. ;)
