The OP received the usual, predictable suggestions. I'll make one that is also my usual, predictable reply: if you need a stout belt, then your holster is inadequate. A well-engineered holster can be worn on a soggy Walmart belt (yes, I have one); a poorly engineered one, typically with the center of gravity too high for the task, needs a stiff belt to keep the pistol from tipping outwards of its own weight. I create all my designs (apologies for getting it wrong on the Askins Avenger, mates; but I do have a an excuse I prepared earlier!) to perform optimally without regard for the rigidity of the belt.
