Took my new toy to the range today, (1026) and I noticed its shooting to the left.. So I got serious with locating where it was shooting and its 2 inches to the left at 10 yards. This is with 2 different kinds and brands of ammo, 180gr and 200gr.. I will say the 180gr seemed better, and the gun will repeat well. I just have to aim to the right a little. The gun is strong recoil was better than I expected...but need to get this fixed promptly.
I also had 3 stove pipes, not a great start on my 1st smith auto.
Thanks

ok I loosened up this set screw on the rear sight,,, now how much force would be required to slide this puppy?
If I can adjust these, they would be fine.

A bunch!
Normally they're pretty tight and in addition they are often stuck to the slide by some corrosion or dried lubricant.
Typical procedure is to soak the sight dovetail with a penetrating oil, let it sit wet with the penetrating oil for a few days, and then use a mechanical sight pusher or go old school and clamp the slide in a padded vice and "push " it with a brass drift and a hammer. BTW they are installed from the factory from right to left and removed from left to right.
As you only need to budge yours a small amount, you will probably be all right as long as you make sure to use the penetrating oil.
