I was having some under cooked cornmeal mush just the other day and got robbed.

We follow the law. Baiting is illegal where we hunt. We also believe in sportsmanship. The camp up the hill from us always gets multiple deer every year, while our camp only gets 1 or 2. We put trail cams out and do pre-season scouting.

We only take bucks. Our neighbors have no problem taking fawns.

One year I had to go on the neighbor's property to track a wounded deer. Actually, the deer didn't go far. This was during archery season. First time up there in many years. That day I found out why they get so many deer.

I tried a salt block and never got any response to speak of...but every squirrel chipmunk wabbit coon and esp birds ate those things up. Birds hit 'em after rains etc...everything else chewed on it. We put a salt block out here for the cows/horses..never saw a deer lick on it...we didn't have to put corn out.we hunted next to corn soybeans(for money) sunflowers(doves)...and sorghum food patches(for quail)...Darn deer were pests in all of those things

Baiting...corn feeders is the Texas way.

Our lease Just under 4500 acres....21 hunters.
23 deer stands with corn feeders.
7 pens with protein feeders.
Feed bill this year $6100.00.

I got a guy with a camp bordering my lease. He’s got a stand 20yds off the property line. While re-posting the property about 3 yrs ago I saw an area where he had all kinds of blocks and corn out. I’m really not sure it helps. The woods are covered with acorns most years. We used to get along but when we had a falling out I told him to make sure he only shoots deer on his side of the line. And I made it clear I knew about his illegal baiting. He’s got 37 acres. He doesn’t need to hug the property lines.

I don't see any reason why that sign won't stand up in court during your trial. Looks like a completely legitimate legal defense to me. *snicker*

Haven't ever had a deer pal/gal like that. But we had a pair of Canada geese that my wife fed...the goose would eat out of her had...The Gander?? close but no C-gar. My kids brought a crippled Swan home one day..Mean a**ed birds. The darn thing would eat from my daughters hand without biting.. I couldn't even get close...swell up and hiss at you. Wing tip was broke...got it set in place and put a nylon stocking over it's body. Feds finally came and got it. It was still living where they turned it loose in 2003...20 years later... we shortly moved out here..20 years ago
