I Quit Facebook

If you search - you will find that good ole Facebook will be implementing policies regarding the posting of firearm(s) related stuff. They announced that they are working with gun control groups, etc. Oh yea - they also manage Instagram...

neither me

I'm good, as I've never had an account.

I've never had the desire to have a social network account. This forum is the only place I visit for relaxation. My Wife has an account so if I wonder where old Earl is and want to say hi, She can do it for me. Self shot photos are good though. What makes you think they are anti gun or whatever. Who cares really? God bless them all. :)
Peace,
Gordon

Facebook-shmacebook... I don't have an account because I don't care what someone I haven't talked to for 20 years is having for lunch. There is probably a reason I haven't talked to to them in 20 years. This forum is my online, social outlet. Otherwise, I still prefer real socialization.

Facebook has caved to gun control interests. I will no longer support them. I ask that anyone with Facebook that feels they have been wronged deactivate or delete your account.

I never had an account there, never will either. Doesnt surprise me any--zuckerberg? also supports open borders one world Govt thing.

They apparently are going to remove ads that promote illegal transactions. I don't use FB for a number of reasons-basically because they don't understand the definition of "friend"- but I think I favor this move. I don't know if I want to do business with someone pushing face to face transactions with out ID checks or required paperwork.

Then you are already part of the problem: you have been brainwashed by the anti-gun crowd that each and every firearm transfer MUST be blessed by the federal government!!

WRONG............

I can sell or trade firearms face to face in my state with anyone I please without help from the government. I can only hope it stays that way. All that "ID checks and paperwork" has yet to prevent ONE crime.

Oh, just my opinion!:)

My wife and I facebooked for about a week...

I've got a buddy who is a huge facebooker with over a 1,500 "friends" He used to post just about every time he made a movement. Where he was, etc...

Sorry, but I just don't get it....

I've been a software engineer for about 30 years and computers have been a major part of my life and income. That said even I don't use FB, twitter or any of the ilk. Way too much invasion of privacy by not only the companies but people getting up in your business. Because of that I periodically do a web sweep and I have pretty much remained anonymous/in the shadows the way I like it. About the only time I used "social" sites was the 6 years between wife one and two. And to think I thought I had a good time in high school/military/college. Then came the momentary lapse of reason and I got married again

I must confess... I do use Facebook. Originally I got an account as it was the only way to stay in touch with my then-tween nieces, who were coping with some serious family issues.

My involvement with the local car scene makes it more or less a necessity; most events are primarily organized there anymore. And it has turned out to be useful for finding people I've lost touch with over time.

Facebook's policy change seems to me more like just a way to keep themselves from getting legally embroiled for facilitation of criminal acts, a'la Craigslist. They're not, from what I read, even blocking posts - - just inserting cautions.

I don't really see a problem because frankly, this marvelous S&W forum has much more restrictive policies on posts; it's a private forum & the owner dictates the rules, as their right.

So too is Facebook.

I do, however, flatly refuse to get a Twitter account, as I've no interest in being a 'twit'.

I thought I was the only person without a Facebook account!!

It warms my heart to see others here that never signed on.... :p

It just never made sense to me.....

.

I found out it's a great way to keep in touch with our kids that are thousands of miles away. I stay in contact with them and learn more about what's going on in their lives than I ever could from Emails and phone calls.
You can "friend" only the people you want and refuse the rest, it's not complicated.
I could care less what suck-up-burg feels about gun control, my deleting my account won't affect one billionth of FB to him.

Interesting...I'm a fan of the Barratt Firearms page - wonder how they'll see any anti-gun sentiment on the site?

To the OP:

Were you able to delete/remove/etc., your account on Facebook or - did you just stop using it???

I have been trying for years to find a way to DELETE my account.

It's easy.
Go to your Timeline page.
Click on the little "gear looking" thing at the top right corner.
Click Settings.
Click Security.
Click Deactivate your account.

It's the Internets fault we must stop using the Internet now.

Really, do men use Facebook?
