Last night the wife and I stopped for gas at the local gas station and I saw something that really irked me. As I was filling up the car with the cheap stuff (yeah right still $3.15 a gallon up to $3.21 today) I noticed that the Super Unleaded was in fact $9.99 a gallon at the station. I looked at the sign on the other side and it too was $9.99 a gallon for Super. Wow talk about someone gouging the general public!

$9.99 that's an odd price, maybe they don't sell the super any more and rolled the price indicator all the way up so people would buy something, or somewhere, else and not bother them with questions. Some of the stations around here don't carry it any more, those that do it is about .30 more than the regular. I have always used regular anyway. last week $2.59 today $2.79.
We need more USA production/drilling!

The dollar is worth less meaning imported fuel costs more. The reason the dollar is worth less is we're printing more money that is not backed by anything so we can bail out things that should probably be allowed to fail. That and the fact that the politicians are using our money to buy votes for themselves. It ain't just the Dems. We have to finish the job in 2012. They work for us and need to be reminded of that just like many of them were a month ago. Corruption abounds. High fuel and government ordered bad home loans is what got us in the mess we are in now. We got a good start with the 2010 elections. Let's do it again in 2012.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, I was once driving up from Hampton Roads VA to NJ and stopped at the Exxon on Rte 13 at the Maryland border. Someone had made a mistake with the gas pump setting and the gas price was at just about half price. I filled up and would have filled twice again if I could have. On the way back, they had fixed the meter. ;)

Regular gas in northwestern LA is running about $2.54-$2.64 a gallon.

Paying $9.99 sounds like aviation fuel.

I would have walked right in and demanded they remove the product immediately. Actually I would have continued to fill up with regular unleaded. I see guns overprived all the time and I don't get upset about it, I just move on.

We're right at $3.00 for regular, now. Fluctuates here so much one never knows. It's been up and down by $.17 this week and that's about normal, now.

I used to live in Ohio, 2 miles south of the border and work in Michigan. On the avergae gas is way cheaper in Ohio. However, I'd leave for work and the local price would be (say)$2.75, Michigan it was $2.83 and when I came home Ohio would be $3.15. I usually just filled up in Michigan because the price was a lot more constant.

I've got a great idea. Lets block some more drilling. Then the price will go up, then when gas is unafordable we can all switch to wind powered cars, and save the planet.

Was that station near an airport or something?

There are gas stations around ariports that double or triple the price of gas in hopes that people will pump the gas before they realize the price. It is legal...it's kinda crooked, but it's up to the customer to look and pay attention!
