Well, it's off to the feed store to stand in line to wait to buy some ducks...the things I do for my grandson .

Would they be the eating kind or the ones to run around at Easter time, for six months ?

Ducks, chicks and even Wabit were a few things that I remember,
while growing up, during Easter times.

The keep in the yard kind that lays eggs. Got 4 Rouens and two swedish blues. The Cayugas didn't come in. Once I can tell which is which-will keep the hens and eat the drakes

Easter was always chicks-feathered chicks-that eventually became dinners. One time for variety it was ducks. I have never understood how feathered critters can cause so much filth and still remain snowy white.

Apparently my elder son didn't believe the story........until he got ducks.

We are not allowed to have "farm" animals in our little community, which includes fowl (chickens, ducks, etc.). The city failed to notify the hundred Black-Bellied Whistler ducks to drop by my backyard every evening for a quick snack.
