I think I over paid for a revolver I didn’t even want. Snubby Pre-10.

Emory,
I also would have had to buy that one. Nice, early post-war
pre 10 snub. Are you kiddin' me??
Got a soft spot for those early snubbies.
You did well.

I have a 1948 nickel pre-10 snub that I consider one of my favorites in my collection. Keep that pre-10 and enjoy the hunt for the pre-15.

Not my cup of coffee, (don't like tea either) but if it trips YOUR trigger, what the heck. It's only money. My Dad always said we won't know the difference in 100 years............

I sold one just about like that 2 years ago for $450. Knowledgable buyer and I both were happy with the price. You did just fine. Nice old ones like that aren't exactly falling out of the sky.

I paid about the same price ($400 to $500) for this one...

...and I felt very good about the price.:) Those early post war snubbie M&Ps rank high on my cool meter.

Thanks for sharing,

Those early post war snubbie M&Ps rank high on my cool meter.

Cool indeed; icy even.

As long as other photos are being offered in supporting evidence, I'll throw in this picture of mine, S868055 from early 1947.

These are just really appealing revolvers. Emory, have no reservations. You got a really good specimen of a well regarded model.

That is a very nice "one liner" Post War snubby. Congratulations :) With your apparent knowledge of handguns I am a little surprised you bought a gun for $500 that you thought was a bad deal. I don't have a problem taking a chance on a $150-$200 purchase if I am unsure if I am getting a good deal. But that is sort of my upper end of "taking a chance" price. Anything more than that and I try to do some serious research before I lay out any cash. You got a good deal and a really nice example. You should be very happy. But...IMO that is too much $$$ to spend and not know it was a sound purchase. I'm not trying to be contentious... I just hate to see people spend a lot of money "blindly" when there are so many resources right here to help you..

The OP bought one of the guns on my wish-list for just about what I'd be willing to pay, or maybe I'd go a little more. I'm definitely on the lookout for a good .38 K-Frame snubby, even more for a M-19 or 66.

Let me know if you would like to sell. I have some interest.

Have fun and be safe.

It's grown on me!
It's actually become dear to me.

Some of you have offered to buy it. I don't think that is going to happen, but if I should choose to sell, I'll contact you in the order you expressed interest.

I am trying to sell or trade a couple of other revolvers that no one seems to have interest in. At least at my price. Nevertheless, I'm holding on to the Snubby. It's become one of my special guns.

Emory
