I think the mag is rubbing the bolt...

So I've been having fun with my new 15-22 but I've noticed that if the 25 round mag has any pressure on it (like sitting at a bench and partially supporting the rifle by letting the the mag touch the table) I tend to get stovepipes. I think the mag is rubbing the bolt and slowing it down... does this sound plausible?

It certainly does especially if you have it pressed into the table. Any pictures of the mag in question?

The magazine is not a replacement for proper arm support or a bipod.
I do shoot mine from the bench some and have purchased shorter
mags so they don't contact the bench.

I like shooting the 15-22 as much as the M&P 15OR.
Also, it is certainly cheaper to shoot .22 LR than .223/5.56.

Thank you. Yes I've decided a bipod is on my "needs" list. Any suggestions on one that will work with the 25 round mags and not break the bank?

I dont have any pics of the mags at the moment, but all 3 experienced it. They are all stock S&W items.

I'd also like to get a reasonably priced scope that'll let me plink at 75 to 100 yds if anybody would like to chime in. Nothing for serious work, just for having fun. I'm 52 and wear tri-focals...I can't do much more than 25 yds with iron sights.
