I thought it was over...

Did the. OP just crawl out from under a rock? Its been and has been and still is in short supply and high priced when available. Not going to change anytime soon

Walked into the LGS last week and they actually had some .22 LR in stock. $6.00 for CCI Blazers and $8.00 for CCI Std. Vel. After browsing around and gritting my teeth for a while I plunked down $64 for a brick of the Blazers. At least I can take my grandson out to do some plinking now and keep some of my nicer stuff for more serious target shooting.

WOW, I paid about a 100 bucks for, 4 bricks of Blazers.

Anyone else heard stories of people camping out at Walmart's parking lot waiting for a truck, buying up cases of .22LR, then reselling the ammo at gun shows for double-plus the price they paid?

Asking double-plus the price they paid ? You can Ask what ever price you want. But what If No One is willing to pay that price, what happens ?

Better have some partners, since Walmart limits you to three boxes... stupid though, as it doesn't matter how many rounds. Those could be three, 50 round boxes or three, 500 round boxes.

If the price is too high, one won't buy. The question, I guess, remains: how badly do you want it and how much money you got?
I was not aware that Walmart had imposed any kind of limit on sales of .22LR. Thank you for the correction.

I know, right? Better to be one of those camping out waiting for the Black Friday deals, or the latest iGadget or concert tickets, or ...

Folks do what folks do.

Well I got up late this morning and when I got to Academy I had about 15 people in line ahead of me. The door opened and everyone filed single file back to the gun counter for 22lr. No bulk ammo but plenty of 50 count boxes available. Some Winchester @ $8.99, Federal Ultra Match @ $19.99, Aguila @ $4.49 and $3.99 and Aguila Colibri.

The Federal and the Colibri has been on the shelf going on 2 weeks now. Of course I was pleasantly surprised there was still ammo available this morning when I got up to the counter since I was so late today. I do have to say that for the last few weeks there has been enough ammo left over after the initial morning rush for those coming in later to get some. Granted its not enough to last the day or till the next delivery but it seems to be getting better. I just hope it continues. Heck we even got CCI 22mag twice in the last week. It didn't last long though. I picked up 600 rounds but split that with one of the guys I've gotten to know as a result of this ammo shortage since he was late getting off work.

I'm starting to become cautiously optimistic that the supply is improving. Selection though is still limited.
