I want Cylinder & Slide's 1903 .45

That's still steep, but at $2500-$3000, is on a par with guns that are far less specialized and that require far less hand fitting. Hmmmm, hate it when my wallet starts getting itchy like this...

The real answer to a lower price is production frames and slides. Short of that you'll be paying USFA ++ prices at discount. I sometimes wonder if the answer might be tupperware. Lower cost, easier forming, etc. Still an updated 1903 w/ grip safty would be really nice.

They do - it is called the M&P, a striker fired .45. I am not sure, but I bet that pistol has a concealed hammer so it will fire, as opposed to being "hammerless."

Picky picky. But after seeing the M&P, I'd rather have a Glock. I've got a soft place for a Blue steal and Ivory griped frame and a plane blued slide. The M&P just don't compare, besides stick a pink...oh they did.

Never mind.
