That's the extractor. The ejector is right where it should be, mounted on top of the frame. FWIW, I've tuned lots of 1911s, and have built a few. I've had to cure more extractor problems on ones with external extractors (proportionately) like S&Ws and some Kimbers, 10-1 over ones with internal extractors. The original design wasn't broke, didn't need fixing. Problems started cropping up when some makers used crappy steel in their extractors, when lame-brained shooters started dropping the slide on chambered rounds, and when reloaders started using brass for so long that the rims were beat to hell and much larger diameter. Having said that, I want one of these C&S guns badly, but not $8 grand worth of badly!!Originally posted by troop:
Oooo It even has an external ejector, hint, hint. Ya think S&W could like maybe make a cheaper hammerless .45?
Aw well probably be too hard for um to do anyway, ya know no incentive. Probably can't use it for action pistol competition or bulls eye, or another game. Limited market appeal = not worth the effort.
Oh well
