I would LOVE if S&W & Magpul came together to make a .22lr P-mag!

Would definitely make a 15-22 MOE complete, don't ya think? :D

Are there any rumors that one is in the works? Or just wishful thinking?

I'd definitely buy a few.

IMO, the magazine is the least cool-looking aspect of the M&P15-22.

I've gotten the itch for a bigger brother for my 15-22 and I was just browsing those P-mags instore and online and man, they seem awesome. Really like their build so it's just wishful thinking right now but I feel like emailing S&W & Magpul aboot it :)

Note to enterprising fabricators out there: How about some type of light weight slide-on covers that supply some sort of protection and aesthetic appeal?

Not wanting to rain on your parade, but what would you do about the load assist button?
I would like to see something like that built as a 10 round mag.
Not so much for the state regs I and others have to live with.
But they would be shorter/handier and being closed up, somewhat protected from dirt and twigs getting in while wandering through the woods hunting down the dreaded zombie squirrels and such.

"Javi,

Thanks for the suggestion. We'll pass it along.

Regards, Paul
S&W"

I think the load assist button is what gets most people into trouble with staggering issues. Wouldn't be so bad if it was gone.

saw a pic post in here somewhere where someone had taken an inner tube from a bike tire and slide it over the mag, load assit button and all

Decided to leave them a comment on facebook the same day I sent out an email haha:

"Please partner up with Magpul & make P-mags for the 15-22 ;)"

Smith & Wesson Corp. likes this:
"Smith & Wesson Corp.
I'll pass thins along to the Product Manager...

You may be right, on a 25 round mag it is nice to have for getting the last few rounds in easier.
Especially after a day at the range loading, shooting, loading, shooting, and on and on, you get the idea.
But on a shorter mag only holding say ten rounds that your going to maybe load only a couple of times a day while hunting in the woods.
I would prefer to have a solid side instead of an exposed slot that attracts dirt and other garbage.

If they did

Get together to make 25-35 rounds mags and worked the bugs out, they would make a KILLING.

I'm all for it, but alas, copyrights and all the re-tooling......

Don't forget 10-rounders! I can't have that 25-35 round goodness.
