I would LOVE if S&W & Magpul came together to make a .22lr P-mag!

Would definitely make a 15-22 MOE complete, don't ya think? :D

Are there any rumors that one is in the works? Or just wishful thinking?

I'd definitely buy a few.

IMO, the magazine is the least cool-looking aspect of the M&P15-22.

I've gotten the itch for a bigger brother for my 15-22 and I was just browsing those P-mags instore and online and man, they seem awesome. Really like their build so it's just wishful thinking right now but I feel like emailing S&W & Magpul aboot it :)

Note to enterprising fabricators out there: How about some type of light weight slide-on covers that supply some sort of protection and aesthetic appeal?

Not wanting to rain on your parade, but what would you do about the load assist button?
I would like to see something like that built as a 10 round mag.
Not so much for the state regs I and others have to live with.
But they would be shorter/handier and being closed up, somewhat protected from dirt and twigs getting in while wandering through the woods hunting down the dreaded zombie squirrels and such.

"Javi,

Thanks for the suggestion. We'll pass it along.

Regards, Paul
S&W"

I think the load assist button is what gets most people into trouble with staggering issues. Wouldn't be so bad if it was gone.

saw a pic post in here somewhere where someone had taken an inner tube from a bike tire and slide it over the mag, load assit button and all

Decided to leave them a comment on facebook the same day I sent out an email haha:

"Please partner up with Magpul & make P-mags for the 15-22 ;)"

Smith & Wesson Corp. likes this:
"Smith & Wesson Corp.
I'll pass thins along to the Product Manager...

You may be right, on a 25 round mag it is nice to have for getting the last few rounds in easier.
Especially after a day at the range loading, shooting, loading, shooting, and on and on, you get the idea.
But on a shorter mag only holding say ten rounds that your going to maybe load only a couple of times a day while hunting in the woods.
I would prefer to have a solid side instead of an exposed slot that attracts dirt and other garbage.

If they did

Get together to make 25-35 rounds mags and worked the bugs out, they would make a KILLING.

I'm all for it, but alas, copyrights and all the re-tooling......

Don't forget 10-rounders! I can't have that 25-35 round goodness.

yea i want 6 30 rounders my self. hope they do it, becouse i do not like the look of the mag. the load assist does help. maybe they could keep it with just like one button on the back of the mag. LOL and make it black not orange..

It would be even cooler if they made the pmag window version for 15-22, that way you can still see round count but gets rid of the ugly mag design they currently have.

pmags would be sick. I have a friends who's gonna give me an old pmag to see if I can't "gunsmith" either my current mag or the pmag to see if I can make one that will work with the 15-22. If I get it working, i'll deffinitely let yall know and post some pictures

Sa-weet! Would it be hard to make it hold the bolt open after the last round?

I'd buy a couple if they came out with them. I'm sure they'd be impossible to find just like the standard 15-22 magazine. It took me 2 months but I FINALLY have 4 mags!

I don't know how hard it'd be to make it all function correctly but I'll just have to mess around with it and see what I come up with. My friend might also give me his old mil-spec buffer tube to see if I might be able to find a way to put it on the 15-22. we'll see what happens

If magpul made a 25 round, i would go for it. Ill put up with no mag assits (although I wonder if they couldn't add one that won't take away form the looks) if it means I don't have to load a bunch of 10 round mags.

Yeah I agree better looking mags would be cool.

The spring assist thing is a joke anyway, I pulled them out of all of my mags as soon as I got them and have NEVER looked back.

As for the clear, or windowed mags, they are a "neat concept" but in actuality they dont work. Once you load up a mag and stick it in the mag well you cant see how many rounds you have in there once you start getting low anyway. IMO they are a novelty item.

I wrap my mags with duct tape and put a paracord ring on them to make for quick grab and change(old school baby) does make them look better.

+1. By far the only unattractive piece on the gun.

+2. Why did Smith make a near-perfect AR analog and then design a magazine that looks like it belongs on an AK? I would think that 22lr would have given them very wide latitude on the external design of the magazine.
