This past Saturday, Miss Judy, all four of our children, fourteen grandchildren, and I went to the ice castles in Midway, Utah. I'd never been there before, so when one of our sons suggested we have a big family activity there, I was all for it. This place is spectacular...huge ice structures, tunnels, slides, caves. Here are a few pics to give you an idea.

The whole family.

One of the several ice tunnels. Just to give you a perspective, it took 25,000 pounds of ice to construct this tunnel.

Okay...I admit it. I was like one of the kids and did everything the kids did. I crawled through even the smallest tunnels and slid down all the ice slides. It was great!

I even had my picture taken with the Ice Princess. (That's me on the right in the glasses.):D

Afterwards, we all went to Heber City just a few miles away and pigged out at a fabulous burger joint. Bottom line, it was a wonderful day!! I sure slept well that night.:)

Nice family:), nice ice display!

Not too far from me they are trying to set up a ice castle but the weather is far from good in keeping things cool enough.

They are now rebuilding it as all the work previously done was ruined and the company has had to put things on hold.

Today as I type this its cooler but still not that good. For us the arrival of the real cold weather is IMHO at least 3 weeks behind schedule. The ice castles are at the well know village of Lake George.

The village also every year has a winter carnival the month of February. We were just up there driving through yesterday and no ice on the lake.-
