Identification Help Standard Model .22/.32 Hand Eject Factory Nickle

Pretty sure it's a pre war model. The nickel and the grips appear to be factory. The serial number is 428023. 4 screw. The address is two line. The BB says there are on two know nickel. HELP. This has factory grips with the S & W logo and the nickel sure appears factory. All the stamping are sharp. HELP

To my eye, it appears there are traces of pitting underneath the nickel. I'd question the ejector rod being plated as well. So my impression is that it's not an original factory finish. Also, is that a German proof mark on the cylinder?

VERY doubtful. The rear sight is nickeled. The front sight is nickeled. The end of the rebound stud is polished flat.
Hammer and trigger have faded colors and even show some rust on what appears to be a pristine gun......
Pics aren't great, but I think I see some pitting on the gas ring under the nickel.
