Well, we've had about only one gun, only one hand gun...so I figure what the heck 
If you could have only one belt fed machine gun what would it be?

Well, it's become my favorite very fast: M240B. Heavy, but WONDERFUL, and crazy reliable and accurate.

I'm pretty happy with this one.
Dillon M134 Minigun to go with my Dillon DL450 and DL550. Dr Gatling and GE had the correct idea. I have a 308 brass case + aluminum bullet dummy round for function testing a M134.
Same old story -- I got the brass, now I got to get the gun.

Ill take the classic Ma Deuce. I figure if I need some belt fed goodness, Ill need a lot of belt fed goodness.
GAU 8. They are just so handy! I'd need the platform they are usually mounted to, though......

The M2HB is the hands-down winner.
I would like a 1919, just for the lower cost of running the 30-06.

Sir, add me to the M2 .50-cal column.
FWIW, this would be a harder question if it included all machine guns. Or are you thinking of additional polls to come? Favorite SMG, favorite sturmgewehr, water-cooled vs. air-cooled, recoil- vs. gas-operated, etc.?

PKM, because 7.62x54R is so cheap.
And, just to get a jump on the next thread, my favorite artilery piece is the M777. If I could have only one, that would be it!

Now this is really an unfair question. Just too many bases to cover with just one. At a minimum, you need a 5.56 of some type for woodchuck, a .30 cal. for deer, a .50 BMG for elk and moose, and that's not counting a compact carry weapon for you know, just in case....

Ma Deuce is great but if ammo is free and unlimited give me a M134 Minigun I might need to clear a forest for a free kill zone. Can't beat 3,000 rounds per minute
