If you could only have one revolver in .357, what model would it be?

27-2 with a 5 inch barrel (which I have)

Hey snowman... thanks for the welcome back. Good to see you here too. I had heard things have changed around here, so I thought I'd come see what was up. Hope you're doing well; my best to you.

Colt, Trooper Mark III it is the only .357 Magnum I own. Many good choices out there, but love the one you are with.

The problem is, that if one takes the question at face, there will be many .357s left in a funk in their places of daily repose.

I keep coming back to my 5" half-shroud 686+, which shoots right with, or better than, the pre-27s, pre-28s, 28s, 19s, 66s and 686s, never mind the Rugers and Python [which is slightly more accurate].

Regards,

Dyson

I should add... being especially fond of fixed sight 3" S&W revos, I have another 581 which is even more special to me. It would definitely be among the very few that I would consider as my #1 S&W .357 revolver. My custom 3" 581 by Mark Hartshorn.

DHart: What a beautiful revolver. I mean the pic is great, but the revolver is truly a "custom" gun. A well executed "custom" revolver. I hope you get a chance to excercise it at a range from time to time. What kind of leather does it ride in?

Great looking Custom revolver that is elegantly done.

DHart, nice pictures as always.
for me it would be a Registered Magnum for value and a 5" 627 for use. So if the question was which one I would own strictly for use the Custom Shop 8 shot 627 revolvers are hard to beat.
