If you could only own 1 S&W revolver, what model would you choose?
Mine would be a 4" model 66 with "Coke Bottle" grips.

My choice would be a 66 or 19. Not sure about the length but 4" or shorter would get me by.

Although not my most favorite one, the 6" 686 is the most versatile S&W. It can be loaded up and down. Can be a carry, home defense, target, hunting for small game or up to deer sized game. Not much you couldn't do with it if you could only have one S&W revolver.

Well, if we're talking about the one that we would LOVE to own, but don't, I would say a model 66 NO DASH with the stainless rear sight and a 4 inch barrel.

If we're talking about the one we would LOVE to own, but probably NEVER WILL, I'd hafta say a PRE model 27 with a three and a half inch snout.

If we're talking about the one that we DO own and would never part with, it would be a toss up between my dad's old Victory model 4 inch M&P or my current EDC/BUG, my Smith & Wessom J frame model 38 Airweight "Bodyguard" from 1985. It's in my pocket everytime I'm vertical in a DeSantis "Nemesis" pocket holster...

Every. Single. Day.

A 686 P with a 6" barrel. Good for home defense. Fun for just plinking. My sister likes shootin' it with soft .38's in it, and all my plastic pistol buddies love shootin' it with heavy magnums in it. I carry it in the woods with me. Take it deer hunting from time to time. Once or twice I've actually toted it as a CCW. It USED TO BE pretty cheap to shoot with .38's in it. If I didn't hunt with it, I'd like a 4" barrel that way it would be easier to CC.

Model 24-3 4", or a mountain gun version in 44 mag. Would be hard to let go of my 3 1/2" ported 66-3 though. 4 guns would be easier.

It may seem funny but I would pick a skinny barrel, 4" Model 10. It is not too big or too small. You can carry it no problem. No delicate sights to worry about. A top load of 38 Special with a hard cast bullet will shoot right through most critters and a hollow point load is no slouch on varmints.

Yes a SW 357 mag a M19,2.5" or second pick a 686 2.5". For its first job would be ccw and house defence. 38spec. and 357 mag can do alot with out breaking the bank. Both would be up to the job. If out west the 4",but in OH and KY the 2.5"
