Get your hands on and take a spin on Mr. Peabody's Way Back Machine,who would you want to visit back in time. Who would you want to go back to talk to?

1. The Founding Fathers
2. Daniel Boone
3. Davy Crockett
4. Theodore Roosevelt
5. Harry Truman
6. Max Hassel (local person of interest)
That's just my short list.
This subject came to mind since the question was ask about WW I vets and I did know some growing up,they would be on my long list

It's funny my wife is a therapist in a nursing home with a lot of residents just turning 100 and some being 100+. Questions always posed to some are, what are some of the greatest things you've seen in your lifetime? Some of the answers, Plumbing, Electricity,Phones, landing on the moon and the list goes on with a lot we take for granted.
So I thought I'd pose the question in a reverse manor.
 
After a high school dance one time I was talking to one of the best looking cheerleaders out in the parking lot and it was headed in a good direction when my buddies made me get in their car and I think we got burgers or something stupid. That Day!
 
I always had a thing for knowing when and why, and how, especially how, things were built. For me it would be
Pyramids
Stonehenge
Trojan horse

Stuff like that
 
I'd like a conversation with Edward Murrow myself, a great newsman of his time and a person of true integrity.

1. Jesus Christ. (Since the first century B.C., no one else has had and continues to have
2. Apostle Paul so much influence on the past, the immediate and the foreseeable future).

3. Benjamin Franklin - His assessments of the colonial/confederacy/federal era would be most interesting, especially his perspective on the Founding Fathers.
4. Franklin D. Roosevelt - Would very much appreciate hearing him talk about those tumultuous years of ranging from the depression through the waning years of WWII.

And... just because it has lately been on my mind, I'd especially love to have the opportunity to visit with my mother, my father and my identical-twin brother. There is so much about life, the family, etc. about which I'd so very much enjoy hearing them speak.

Sadly, none of us can go back in time and ask the questions we would like to ask. None of us can listen to those now dead and gone. But, there are those with us in this present moment who have a story to tell. How much richer our lives are as we listen to them.

I would like to find out more of my father. Mother and father divorced at an early age. Father was never home much because I believe he avoided my mother's hot temper.

My next person would be my grandfather on my mother's side. He survived the Korean War taking the family into and surviving the mountian wilderness. I would ask about how/why he made the decision when he did.

These are the people who lived through incidents which personally affected me. All else would be simply satisfying a curiosity.
 
I'd like to talk with my parents again but I do that in my dreams already.

I never met my Mom's Dad as he died when she was young. He was a WWI vet, moved the family from Scotland to Nova Scotia where he built a few houses, a sawmill and general store. Granny gave it all away when he died to relatives and moved to Ontario. I think he would be interesting to talk to.
 
That's an easy question for me. The person I would most like to go back in time to meet is of course Jesus Christ. A few seconds with Him would answer all my questions!

This of course would be my first choice also, but I'd like to talk to the shepherds. They must have one of the greatest untold stories ever. Just think. God almighty, chose YOU out of all the people on earth, to announce the birth of His Son to. There has to be a story there. What did they think at the time. What did they do afterward? Did they just go back to hearding sheep? Did they ever encounter Jesus again later in His life? Did that experience change their lives?

In the secular world.

In my case, I'd like to go back to the late 1800's and visit my great-great grandfather who fought in the Civil War and raised two complete families after his first wife died way too young. I've researched the heck out of him but there is still so much more I'd like to know. :o

Too bad for me that he spoke mainly French, having been born and spent his early years in French Quebec. My French isn't that great. I might need an interpreter. :)
 
Of course I would like to speak with Moe,Larry and Curly! How could I forget them?
Then there would be Cagney and Bogey ! ;)
