If you had $14K to spend what would you do?

I probably would have focused it on older Smith's, or put toward the restoring my old Chevy truck. I will say I was in you position in 2003....I bought a minty transferable Colt M16A1 :)

Pay bills.

However, if I had to spend the money on guns...

Tough one. At this point, I'd probably get:

Another 642-1 (or two).
A couple of 640NDs (at least).
Trigger jobs on the snubs, if needed.
3 identical compact double stack 9mms, leaning towards either Sig P229s or Glock 19s.
Accessories for the semi-autos (holster, mag pouches, mags).
A good semi-auto rifle (or three), leaning towards a good AR15 carbine, possibly in 9mm (don't judge me!).
Training classes (tactical first aid, defensive pistol/rifle shooting, force-on-force, etc.).
Maybe a nice, custom 1911...or Hi-Power...or both.
Use whatever's left to stock up on ammo.

I'd definitely get a bigger safe first and foremost. I would probably build a midrange benchrest rifle before buying any more handguns. Then I'd start hunting for a few of my want list none of which could satisfy a need not already taken by something I have.

Ruger Blackhawk .357 maximum 10.5"
629 or 29 Classic DX
686-4 Plus 2.5"
686 3" which seems impossible
60-10
610
629 Trail Boss or Alaska Backpacker

Guns Only ...

Dang, you guys are making me feel like a selfish jerk! I thought it was a "if you could spend 14k on guns" question.. LOL!

Just one, and it would be one of those pristine Triple Lock nickle targets in .44 Special I saw on David Caroll's table a couple of years ago. That would pretty much take care of the whole stash. And then shoot it ... more than once :)

Actually, that is just about how much extra we have each year,, since I started Medicare.
I was paying well over $1,000 a month for health insurance.

We have two married daughters,
and $14,000 is just about what we spend a year spoiling them!! :D

Group vacations, home improvements,, whatever we can do.
I would rather give it to them now, than after I am gone.
