Having had several threads removed, I would rather have them removed than getting a ding. Usually I will start a thread-come back and see something like 50 likes-click on the thread to read comments and find it be gone!
No kidding, like a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Every time I log into this site and see that I have a notification, I get nervous thinking I got another "ding". It is a relief when I see they are just "likes" to a post.
