Those are "ok" prices but not great prices. The best prices I've seen on the OR and Sport are at Buds Police Supply. Sports there were $550 when in stock.

Not everyone qualifies to purchase from Bud's Police Supply. They could have rifles for a dollar and it doesn't do me any good.

S&W also uses full retail prices on their site. They list the Sport for a suggested retail price of $839. You'd have to have a lot more money than sense to pay that for one right now.

The sport can be found regularly for $599-$615 (often with free shipping or $5.99 for shipping) on www.slickguns.com

Lots of great deals out there right now.

Why would you not qualify? If you have an FFL to ship to, you have money, your in TX, Not NJ,NY,CA,Ma or some other socialist state?? Be Safe,

I can do $875 on the OR. Let me know...

Free shipping until 11/30/13.

Because I don't meet the criteria. I am a veteran, but not currently active duty, reserves or retired military. I am not police, fire, emt or the host of other folks that they sell to.

If you qualify, it's a good deal, but you can't really compare that pricing to a dealer that sells to the general public.

There is no criteria unless you want the additional $ 100 discount for a LEO or military. The general public can buy from Buds but they don't get the discount. The prices posted on the website are the prices the general public pays....so for a Sport it $555 or the OR is $759. Now that's a cash discounted price, but still a great price and better than the other place.

Just to clarify...Budsgunshop is for General Public. Budspolicesupply is for Law Enforcement, Military, etc. Budsgunshop has is listed for $826 vs Budspolicesupply has it for $759. As an added incentive for Military, S&W has the $100 Mail in Rebate.

This is what he means by he doesn't "qualify".

I do not know what "cal legal" is but probably not the rifle I want. I can imagine the difficulty of buying from a Cal dealer. Wally mart often has good deals on S&W rifles although I have not bought a firearm my buddy did, once he found a human who had the ability to call the background check he walked out with it (M&P 15-22). I bought a case of Federal 5.56 for $389. Sometimes I just cannot pass a Wally deal and watching the customers has become national entertainment.

The $555 Sport is on Budspolicesupply.com. On their homepage, it states "Welcome to BudsPoliceSupply.com ! This website offers discounted prices on firearms and related accessories to qualifying customers, including: Law Enforcement Officers, Active and Retired Military Personnel, National Guard and Military Reserve Personnel, Firemen, Security Officers, CAP (Civil Air Patrol) and many other qualifying customers . You must provide a copy of your qualifying credentials in order to receive the advertised discount price."

The general public does not get a Sport for $555 from Budspolicesupply.com.

CA legal mean a bullet button (mag lock). Buying from a CA dealer isn't as bad as some may think.

Hi, new guy here from, NJ, picked up,a ban state compliant Sport from Sportsmanship Outdoor Superstore yesterday for $555.00 with free shipping, can't wait to tear into this thing, it's my first AR. My wife was cool enough to buy it for me as a Christmas gift.

To reciprocate, you should give her 2,000rds of 5.56 then work out some sort of agreement.

And, don't be giving her any cheap stuff!!

Went by my LGS today and saw that they had a Sport with the 1:8 5R barrel. I passed as it was listed for $899. Would rather pay the extra $100 and got for FDE-MOE.
