house bills 4149 and 4456 would require private transfers of handguns to go through a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder, and allow for fees (gun taxes) for such transfers.

Contact your illinois representatives and ask them to please OPPOSE these bills.

yepper......brought about by the new mayor of chicago. his reason is that this action will prevent the chicago gang members from obtaining firearms in illinois.

Chicago is a mess. What does a gunshot wound cost us taxpayers? Assuming it costs $250,000, every day the news reports about $1.5 million in Chicago gunshot Medicaid costs. (that's just the ones that hit the news) Daley really screwed the pooch when he had the projects torn down.

If he looks back at all of the previous years and the handgun restrictions, he will see that it did nothing to stop the violence/shootings. The bad guys will ALWAYS be able to get handguns, AND I do not think the gangbangers are interested in my 1950 Target S&W in .44 Special. He is just destroying the rights of the people who are passionate about collecting and target/competition shooting.

That is EXACTLY what they WANT to do.

That is why it *IS* important for you to stay and FIGHT, and not cut and run as one suggested. Your staying and fighting says good things about your character too.

They KNOW they will never control the bangers. They also KNOW it is more possible to control US.

Thats the problem, this stupid ***'s think making legal law abiding citizens get punished and their rights imfringed upon will stop the violence and etc. Look how well Chicago's handgun act did, I am pretty sure it did nothing to stop the gangs and criminals and made it impossible for law abiding citizens to protect thier homes and property in bad neighborhoods that most police are too scared to drive thought at night anyway. I am really thinking Illinois is going to run all the jobs and people away .
