I didn't introduce myself when I first came here (I asked a few questions in the appropriate forums)..I live in the Allentown area of PA.
I've owned revolvers (GP-100, Redhawk, Super Black Hawk, Vaquero, Single Six and Python) in the past but never a Smith (all since sold off to get through school....now I'm done and am trying to slowly build my collection).
I came here to learn a bit about S & W Revolvers....so it's y'all's fault (yep, I lived in the South for a while too).
I came to ask about a Smith 19-2 6" with a cracked forcing cone...I bought it, found a 4" replacement barrel (hard to find). The replacement barrel is still sitting at home, mostly because I have been buying other guns.
Next was a Smith J frame (638-?).
Oh, then I needed another fix...saw a nice early 29 with it's wooden box in the case...went home, thought about it and went back...it was gone already. So, I assuaged my disappointment by buying a beater 586 (4" barrel, no-dash if I recall correctly).
A few weeks later I was walking into the store and found a 629-6 (5" "Classic").
Then a while later a 6" 686 (firing pin on the hammer still) called my name...
Today, when picking up a bolt .22 (used, came with a Leupold scope as a pretty good deal), I saw a 17-2 sitting in the case....gave them a deposit on it...(I had actually planned on getting a .22 DA revolver in the near future).
(A few detours on the way through the revolvers....a Python came before them, a few autoloaders during...I like SIG-Sauers, a rifle or two, an Uberti and a Ruger SA revolvers).
So, if I hadn't come here...I would still be almost revolverless.....
If my wife wants to know where they came from....
It's your fault!!
