Anyone that's been following my "Health and Fitness" thread knows that I, along with others, have been doing what we can to improve our fitness levels and lose weight.
Last summer I hit my goal weight, then increased my protein intake and hit the weights. I gained a bit, got stronger and now I'm trimming the fat back off.
Anyway, my wife went and baked banana nut bread.
Basically, everything it contains isn't on my diet 'cept the bananas.
Also, there's no resisting it. There's no place in the house away from the heavenly aroma of freshly baked banana nut bread.
At least I convinced her not to put chocolate morsels in it.
I'm doomed I tell ya!

We're gonna be heading out to a big Italian Christmas Dinner with her side of the family on Christmas day. I'm sure I'll be breaking my diet a lot.
I can hear it now, "Mangia, mangia."
Count your blessings if you have an Italian-American wife that let you make that much progress before sabotaging you. I'd never have been that merciful. :D
I have a motor nerve condition and in my case getting the weight off helps me get around easier. But she does like to bake stuff.
Oh, you better send the fudge this way instead. If his wife found out he was sampling delicacies from another woman she would probably use that hatchet on him!!
Right after she's done with the rolling pin.

LOL I have been there and done that. I had gone on a no sugar and no processed food diet and went from 235 lbs. to about 185 in about 3 months. I ate nothing that had high fructose corn syrup or sugar by other names in it. No matter what they call it it is sugar in some form.

Then came the holidays along with the sugar. I gained 10 lbs. back real quick. I just read where sugar addiction is probably as bad as heroin. It is no wonder why Americans are so blimpy fat with as much sugar we consume. My dog food even has HFCS in it now. You got to be kidding!

Good job!
This morning I weighed 169 pounds. Not really sure what my goal weight is. It's more of a goal, stuff I want to be able to fit into again.
Our diet's an under 1600 calorie a day diet.

Oh man, I shouldn't have read this thread. I lost 40 pounds in the last 6 months, I've stayed away from baked things like cookies and cakes almost entirely, and now I have a hankering for a piece of banana bread with a nice slab of cream cheese on top. What I'd give to be able to eat those things and keep the pounds off at the same time ...

Are you taking a protein supplement? Perhaps a whey protein isolate? If so, how many grams per day are you using?

And are you taking a BCAA supplement? If so, have you noticed there's less muscle recovery time?

Just curious.

Nah, none of that stuff.
I just make sure to include lotsa lean protein in my diet and green veggies.
Like tonight, after our workout we had a pork roast with brussels sprouts. That's a healthy, filling 375 calorie supper with lotsa protein.

I read this thread just after eating 2 of my wifes magic bars. I had my annual check up a couple months ago, He told me I was as healthy as a horse, a fat horse but healthy. He was willing to refer me to the food nazi but i declined.
The doctors keep telling me that too. Not the fat horse part but the "You're very healthy," part.
I guess you could say I'm the food Nazi in our house.
