I'm having Brain Surgery Friday

Mr. Dewey, good thoughts and prayers for you and your family and all the physicians attending you. I hope you can find some comfort and support from those who posted that they have been there before.

Best of luck my friend. At least you are right the man. ;) I've got a good friend who has three of those extra hole and he's smart as a whip. My sister got a couple last year and I've seen no change whatsoever (don't know if that's good or bad).
f.t.

Knee-mails sent. Good luck and keep us posted.

My wife had a craniotomy with STA/MCA bypass in 2005. Prior to that she had many a stroke and now is back to walking with me and dancing with me. Those neuro-docs have God in their fingers.....

I have been there

Over the years my friend here have comminted:

"Are you crazy?"

"Do you have a hole in your head?

"You can't spell for ****!"
++++++++++++++++++++++

Well, now I'll have an excuse. I was pretty relaxed,as always, until the nuero guy said " And then I'll drill a half inch hole in your head and with micro-tools go in and search around...." I'm not sure what he said after that as the picture in my head stopped at that image.

Thoughts and Prayers would be apprecited.

Blessings

Dan

You certainly have my prayers. Feel free to PM me. Here is my story. Back in 9/95 I was riding my bicycle and I went to cross a 4 lane road at a traffic light. My light went green and all was clear so I went....and the next thing I know I was surrounded by people. A guy in a pickup ran the red light and hit me @ 45mph. A cop saw the entire thing. I was taken to the hospital and after CT scans and MRI scans they found fluid on the brain. I did not have a choice. It was get a VP shunt or die in time do to fluid and pressure. To this day I have a valve in my head with a knot in my head with a tube under the skin that drains into the stomach. I was scared and frightened. I am still living with no effects from the surgery at all. I see a neurosurgeon once a year to test my valve and it always tests fine. The scariest part was knowing I had to get it done and then the time it took to face the reality of what had happened. It will all work out and be ok. PM me if you need any help.
