I'm home

Ah ha, they got you on the Plavix and Atenalol route.:D
Kidding aside, as you know I have a battle of my own, but I will always have room at night to pray for you. God speed Misty!

Actually, I was on Plavix for TIA's. But I'm off that now and on Warfarin and Lovenox, much stronger stuff. I appreciate the kind words and prayers Dick. And I'll keep you in mine. God bless.

Good luck girl. We share some of the same gun interests AND medical maladies. Wishin' you all the best.

Well wishes to you Misty. If you need some good no salt recipes give us a shout.Honestly its pretty easy to get used to and I find that I don't like all of that salt,There's more things to taste when you don't have all of the salt hiding them.

Here's a good omen for you GunLovinGirl: My post to you just a moment ago was number 357!

Misty, hang in there. Its not as bad as some would say. My AFib hit me in 96 with a heart rate as high as 180. Medicine didn't do any good so they took the paddles and shut it down. When they restarted it, it ran close to normal.. Also had heart ablation surgery which worked for several years. Today, at 77, I'm on 10 medications and have a pacemaker/defibrillator and can go shooting anytime I please. Best of luck.

It's just not the same when you're away. The other side of that
coin, is things are just better when you're around.
I'll bet you can find a delicious bar-b-que sauce, that's also
heart-healthy, to use on Caje's critters!!
My thoughts are on you and your continued well-being.

Thanks for the update Misty, I actually never stopped remembering you in my prayers from a few months ago. I'm sure everything will be alright with you, just keep us posted. We promise not to stress you out.:p
We've all got your back, so hang in there.

Glad you are still with us! Haveing been there done that I know what you are going through, just do the right thing and listen to the Doc!

Update....Well, I had bloodwork done yesterday. The Dr. called in the afternoon and took me off one of the blood thinners...the injection. I was more than happy to oblige! I go back for bloodwork next Monday, and hopefully it will still be in the range they want it to be. Also, my blood pressure is down to normal, and my heart rate, although still a little high, is much lower than it was. I no longer feel the pounding in my heart, so that helps to get my mind off all this. My prayers are that my heart will start pumping more blood now that it has slowed down, and I'll get a good report from the cardiologist in 2 weeks. The hard part of all this is finding low sodium food. I really don't have a problem eating low and no salt food, the problem is finding it. Even "low sodium" labelled foods have a ton of the stuff still in it. It's no wonder so many people have high blood pressure!
Thank you all for the kind words and prayers. I'll keep y'all updated.:)

Believe in the healing power of prayer, I can bear witness to its effect. Your positive attitude, prayerful reflection combined with the support of your Forum family will bring about a remarkable recovery.

gunlovingirl:

Keep your dogs up and enjoy a little glg-time, browsing the forum. And stop trying to compete with the hummingbirds for speedy heartbeats. Good luck with the meds and the follow-up visit with your doc. We'll keep you in our prayers, too.

Chris

Misty,

Hang in there and May God bless.....Prayers have been set on your behalf.....

Take care and relax......it will be fine.....

Misty, take it easy, do exactly what your doctors tell you, and try not to let this situation bum you out. (It sounds like you haven't.)

Best wishes to you...I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I had episodes of afib for years that wasn't diagnosed until I had a stroke from a related blood clot in 2002. You avoided that. My episodes usually happened in the early am while sleeping and it was believed to be partially caused by sleep apnea. I have been on Sotalol and Warfarin since 2002. The Warfarin has never been a problem for me. In 2008, I had electrocardioversion twice to get out of the afib. I have been in normal rhythm most of the time since then. Afib will cut down on the heart's ablilty to move the blood but it is not fatal and I know quite a few people who live in permanent afib and do fine. I also lost a good bit of weight and started regular exercise and quit all caffeine and alcohol and I have stayed out of afib since 2009. They can manage it pretty well. I understand how you feel and wish you well!

Nice to hear that your up and around Misty! We're all worried about you and praying the "gunlovingirl" makes a full recovery!
Your in my prayers Misty! Dale

Misty, I'm so glad to hear you are doing better!

You'll find low salt food because you'll be doing all your own cooking. :)

As has been mentioned you'll be having low sodium meals because you'll make them yourself, that's the one true way to get them. Pay attention to the doctor, start exercising-ease into it, don't try to walk 10 miles the first time!-and pet your doxie, it's been proven that petting a dog ot cat is a calming activity that lowers stress levels.

I'm very happy to see that you're back, I've wondered about you, every time I've looked in here at S&Wforum.

Praying for a speedy recovery. My Mom had the same thing happen to her and she's still here :) You got this.
God Speed.

I'll keep you in my prayers. I was diagnosed with Afib a year ago. I'm taking Amiodarone, Spironolactone, Digoxin, & Plavix. I've lost some weight, exercise regularly, & cut back on salt. So far, so good. My cardiologist has mentioned catheter ablation, but I'm going to avoid that as long as possible. You've got a lot of people who care about you. Hang in there, we'll get through this.
