I’m in Washington

We landed last night at 10:30. Got to Auburn around 12:30. My first airplane ride was pretty much uneventful. We are getting ready to go out and ride around. More later.

Interesting! Still alive after 11 hours on the ground in the presumptive war zone! :D

Good luck and enjoy your further explorations. Unfortunately we're all stuck in some standard-issue PNW spring weather :(

I'm in Washington also - however, it is on the free side of the state, east of the Cascades. But don't feel bad - even on the dry side it is raining today.

We also have a place in the Cashmere/Wenatchee area, getting over there reminds me what America used to be... :) :)

The west side used to be a great place when we moved down from Alaska in 1987, but it's certainly changed for the "not" better over the years.....

Oh Well....

I don't see how anything gets built here. I'm afraid to stand still. Moss will start growing on me. We went to the Harley store in Renton. Then we spent time with the family helping to get ready for the funeral tomorrow.
I see a lot of run down houses here and nobody apparently empties public trash cans.
Thanks Rusty. I'll let my GF know.

Went down to the Green river this evening and over to Bonney Lake. Saw some homeless people today in Federal Way. Up early tomorrow for breakfast at the Poodle Dog in Fife and then on to Vashon Island.

Made it to Vashon today. Still haven't been able to get to see Rainer. Going to the coast tomorrow. Finally I'm somewhere that's worthy to take pictures of.

The last time I visited Seattle was the end of June 2014, went to visit my sister and her now deceased husband. We went to go see Mt. St. Helen-here's the amazing view LOL

And a view without the distractingly handsome S&W Fan

It was nicer in the Seattle area, here's the view from the restaurant on Bainbridge Island

And this thing (Rainier lol) from across the water

Ahhh, the memories. My wife and I lived in Gig Harbor years ago. Sometimes it was nice.

I went up there once (it's a three-hour drive from here) without checking the weather forecast first. It was foggy and you couldn't see the crater. No problem for me, I went back a couple weeks later when the weather was nice. But I really felt bad for the two busloads of tourists who were there also, who would probably never get the chance again.

I go about once a year. Here's a shot when the weather is co-operating:

I got back from the WA coast on Sunday, after digging razor clams. I asked a Seattle homeless guy what time it was. He didn't know how to tell time, so he let me look at his Rolex watch so I could see what time it was, nice guy.
