Ammo. Not joshing you. At the gun show this week, I watched the ammo dealer who has decent prices A: Raise his price on 223 WPA/Wolf by $10-15, and he burned thru all of it in one day, not 2. We got the last 2K rounds he had there. If the last election cycle will be used as a benchmark, then I would say it's not a bad idea for people who are plinkers and target shooters to get some cushion ammo to carry you thru a few months of slim pickin's.
Serious ammo hoarders, then you should have already stocked up a year ago. You knew better, and did not NEED to wait until now to drive down supply.

There is still good supply; but I know the ammo guys well, and they are saying "You see that wave on the horizon? It's big, and we are going to get swamped. The tide has risen a few feet already...."
Do yourself a favor; if you want to scramble on July 2 for ammo for the big weekend, then go ahead. Or, buy yourself 500 round or so, and be able to shoot all summer.

Or get 2500 rounds and be able to shoot all sumer.

Or, get 25,000 rounds, and be able to shoot all eternity!!! (Don't hoard ammo uselessly, but keep a little on the side.)

If you don't mind mentioning, where are you from?

I picked up 500 rounds of Federal at a show this weekend in Wichita, KS. By Sunday, looked like they just about sold out of all 5.56, .223, and 7.62.

CR; I am in Huntington Beach, Ca. I do some gun shows for ASI arms, a small gun dealer. ( I get a couple bucks, and a break on parts and transfers.) I also get in to the gun show for free since I am working.

There are 2 shops to get ammo from at the Crossroads of the West show: MiWall, and LAX ammo. Price does not matter...... MiWall has a crazy hot auburn redhead who somehow makes tattoos look sexy, and LAX Ammo has a girl who I think was a bunny a couple years ago.

Needless to say, they got the 'guns', and I buy the ammo!!!!:D

Waiting for PSA to ship my 1000 rounds of Fed XM193 5.56, any day now!!

See, that's odd, cuz that is the end, period. No need for anything after that date.

Well, if that's the case, I am going out guns a blazing. When God grabs me, he's likely to burn himself on the barrel.

Or, snag himself on a treble hook. I can't decide if I will go out fishing or hunting.:D

I also think there are people stocking up for the supposit 12-21-12 event.

If you ignore leap year, which wasn't around when the Mayans were here, world should have ended 7 months ago. :)

Guess I gotta keep paying the bills :(

ETA: I don't know of that's technically true. It's just the latest Internet thing passing around.

Walmart is raising their ammo prices as well. The bulk .223 in can was $140, then $150, now $160 all within a matter of a few months! 420 rounds of .62 grain green tip.

Wonder how many mass groups will OD and expire that very day as they follow some moron into darkness.

Stopped by Walmart's today on the way to the range to pick up some 380 ammo for the wife's Body Guard.......noticed there wasn't a single round of 223/556 available.

Just picked up a 1000 rnds. of PMC 223 55 grain from SGAmmo.com for $299.95. Cheapest I could find it online. Got the same 1000 rnds. 3 months earlier for $259.00, prices are definitely going up. :(

I wish I could buy online up here in AK. We can't even come close to these prices in our stores.
