There is no hope for you. Once you are infected there is no cure. I bought my first S&W revolver, Model 64 (no dash) back in the 80's. Now I have a little of everything from 22s to 44 Mags., all shooters. Just kick back and enjoy the ride.
Traxless, if you like the looks of the 686 SSR, then also look at the 627 Pro. Same type 4" barrel but 8 shots instead of 6. It is also cut for moon clips and includes 3 with the revolver. I bought mine and received it in May and have well over 1000 rounds down the pipe from mild to wild and it's a darn nice gun! If you shop online you can find it for less than $800. I bought mine from Bud's.
Dang Amigo ... you were reading my mind. I've got both revolvers bookmarked at Bud's and the S&W website. I visit them most every day! I know ... sick.
In order to preempt that pain you should never go to a gun show or a gun store. You should not watch Hickok45 gun videos. You should not read gun magazines. You should not read or watch gun reviews.
Now we know there is little chance of a gun enthusiast of doing the above. So basically make sure your first safe is the biggest you can afford to buy. Even then you will probably buy more than one safe also.
No matter how many times I tell myself I don't need any more guns and so I am done buying more guns I inevitably get another gotta have itch and buy another gun or like last time I came home with two guns.
