In my 686 6" for only target use, I got good accuracy with the following with 38 brass:
110 & 125jhp 14.0c 945 fps, which was weird. (same vel.)
140 xtp 13.0 cci250 at 910fps....158 xtp 12.0c 826 fps.
In my M49 snub nose with a 125gr LRN cowboy and 9.5grs of IMR 4227 I got 507 fps and a accurate load but it also stopped the receiver from turning.
It will group well but it will also fowl up the revolver with unburned powder..........
In my 686 with a magnum load with a 125gr Speer Gold Dot
with 18.5grs and a f100 primer I got a lot of "Blow Back" and
I will not ever use this powder in a 38 or 357 for SD use !!
The rest of the powder will be used to make my lawn green..........
The 5/01 IMR data manual with 4227 loads for pistols is a joke............. I did not get even close to the fps listed.
Maybe if it was the only powder that you had..........but it is a lot better as a RIFLE POWDER.
