My beloved wife of 53 years passed 2 weeks ago. Heart attack. My son, daughter, their spouses, grandkids and their wives and I are still in shock. Trying very hard to get by.

Life can be so beautiful and yet inevitably becomes harder than we ever feared it could be, I was fortunate that I lived a great portion of my life without experiencing such personal loss, but in these later years it is unavoidable, coming harder and with increasing frequency.

Sincere condolences on the loss your family is dealing with. Nothing can be done or said at this point to soften the anguish. We never 'get over it', but sometimes we learn to live with it. God bless and keep you, and may good memories sustain you in this difficult time.

That's something every couple has to face, but knowing that doesn't make it any easier for the survivor.
I'm sorry for your loss and pain. I think others here have given good advice - stay busy, do physical stuff, and try to be with other people as much as possible. May God grant you peace and good memories.

Sometimes the only thing you can do is change the way you are thinking about it. As stated above, you never get completely over the loss of a loved one, but you can learn to live with it. Best regards.
