Unfortunately from a collecting standpoint, I spent 16 years overseas while I was working ... while so many others here on SWF were setting aside those Model 66 snubs, Model 13 snubs, and so many others. But, I had the good fortune of seeing an ad here on SWF a while back, from a fine gentleman in the Far West, with what turned out to be a beautiful Model 15 snub. It arrived today and it is fabby! I was floored by how well he took care of it, how he treated me during the whole process, and how nice a revolver it is. The Model 64 came from the local gun trading site. Usually, S&W's that make it there are nothing to write home about. But, this one is very nice. Just the tiniest bit of crane flex and it was over-zealously polished sometime during it's life. The lettering on the right side of the barrel is lighter than I would prefer - but a 3-incher it is. It is prolly a corrections hand-me-down since the front and backstraps are grooved like my 65. And, that would explain the amount of polishing that it appears to have had. Finally, it had a set of new-condition VZ grips along with abso spotless original grips!
It's my second 3-inch 64. Another fine gentleman here on SWF, who lives here in VA, talked me into trading my first one to him and I received an even nicer 2-inch 64 in return. I bought the first 64 here on SWF in 2015. The seller was kind enough to conceal the fairly-deep pitting under the grips - even though I asked him about it beforehand. The local forum member here didn't mind it a bit - since the pitting was fully covered by the grips. I have found so many other nice K-snubs in my continuing search for a 19 or 66 snub!!
