inexpensive mag loaders?

I'll throw a vote in for the UpLULA. Great product. Saves the hands and gets those mags topped easily. Definitely better than some of the more basic units and worth the extra $.

Glad that you ordered the Uplula! I forgot mine at home last night. Loading mags the old fashion way sucked until the darling husband got to the range. I was glad to see him, but I was really really happy to see his Uplula!!

I agree the the Uplula is the way to go. When I first got mine, I didn't notice the little lock at the top and accidentally activated it, preventing it from loading. I was ready to send it back when I discovered my error.

The only design error with Uplula is the ease with which that lock can be inadvertently activated.

I have had mine for 68 and the joints protest loading the last half of the mag. heck the first round depending on the weather.

Dang, my 2nd post here and you are costing me money :D

I just ordered one from Amazon for $29.82 shipped.

I'd love to have an Uplula but I don't think the price is justified in my case. I don't shoot tons of ammo at the range, mostly due to the cost of ammo. Can anyone recommend a good cheap loader for my M&P 40[/quote

Read every reply. You will change your mind. Good luck.

You are going to like it and have more time for shooting spending less time loading mags. I have forgot mine the last few times to the range and said bad words.

I use the glock loader, cheap and small.Does the job.

The only problem with the Uplula is that it makes it expensive to go to the range because you will shoot so much more...lol.

Hi Mark40, I have to agree with the majority of these responses. I love that darn Uplula. I use it for my .45 and 9mm pistols. I even use it on my new Turkish import 9mm, and I have to tell you, cramming that last round into the 18rd mag is almost impossible without the uplula. Have fun and be safe..........MagnaDale

Thanks all. I was aware of the Uplula and all it's virtues, but was hoping there was a cheaper alternative. I prefer to spend my money on ammo. But I am glad that you all talked me into it. It should be here by Wednesday.

I find with the folks I tend to shoot with more often, after that first trip, they're in my stall looking to borrow my uplula once or twice.
Within the next trip or so...I'll look over at them using their own.

To me, it's one of those things you don't need until you use it, then it becomes irreplaceable.
I've converted 2 glock shooters from their simple loader to this one.

The ONLY comment I ever hear is, should've done it sooner...

I use one specifically made for the Shield.
The Uplula seemed too loose and rattled around on this type of mag and needed some type of additional adapter.

Who makes it and where'd you get it?

Like I said,
made specifically for Shield,
by me,
this morning in my basement. ;)

I was always going to do this because none of my other mag loaders really fit shield mags.
The Uplula I had was so sloppy on shield mags.
I think they sell some sort of insert for the Uplula for slim mags for an addition $15
but I wasn't all that impressed with the Uplula.
Guess I was used to using Glock loaders and SA loaders that fit the mags
and figured they were so much simpler and just as easy to use.

Finally got some time this week so........
