We currently have my limit of dogs, two. Both Goldens, we have had as many as three but those were special circumstances. Food bills? I eat well and have no problem making sure my dogs eat well also. Think you pet food is expensive? We feed raw, very expensive and much more involved than just scooping kibble. Better for dogs also, in my opinion.

I've never regretted a single penny I've spent on my dogs. Nothing good is ever cheap, but in my opinion dogs are a bargain.

We are down to one dog and a clowder of 4 cats. I keep thinking about getting another dog. Not going to be one from the ads in paper. Most of them are close to a grand or more. Only way I would pay a $1000 for a dog is if it could sniff out gold deposits. No shelter in our little town so need to make a trip to a larger city
