looking at these for sale from a friend....wondering a value to buy them, I dont want to cheat the guy, thinking somewhere between low and high is where I like to be

while cleaning them up I learned alot ...such as with 38/44 (38 S&W Special) the hammer block? is attached to inside of sideplate, I havent seen one this early before...not sure when this changed to the floating type...

from sn 39123 I assume from what I read that ship dates is around mid 1932...very clean with sn marked right grip...its only down side would be the initials engraved into side plate G.E.H.
(which aren't my initials) :)...I realize this would take alot of collector value off

With the I frame .32 Long sn 612333 puts it around 1954/55...coil hammer spring and 2nd model flat latch
Very clean gun again with sn numbered grips
I learned the cyl lock spring is different...maybe because the frame is smaller? Also assume this is a pre 31 as its a square butt

Thanks for any help/Input
love the history
Al

my problem was my older win 10 computer defaulted back to jfif ...did a google search on how to fix....
thanks al

My SWAG on value is $600 to $800 on the pre-war HD, those service grips appear to be in pretty good shape. The 32, maybe $500-$500. Good luck.

Nice acquisitions. Any idea who GEH is? That HD would have been in my safe at 8 bills. I might even have dropped a K on that one. Prewar HDs are really finely made guns.

I usually go to Guns International dot Com and find something comparable to the hard to price firearms.

Neither one is a great catch JMHO.
