Hey guys,

Brand new to the forum. Looking forward to contributing where I can, but mainly here to learn. I had a guy bring me an old S&W 2nd Model single action. It is a top break, I believe it is a 38, and it is the model without a trigger guard. Looks like a small pocket pistol in my opinion. I'm wanting to know what other model grips will fit this pistol, or where I can buy replacement grips for it. It has none on it. I looked up what I could on this pistol and I think it was manufactured between 1850 and 1877. The guy's grandfather found it at the bottom of an oil drum in the 1950's. Thank you in advance for any information that you can provide.

Hugh May ([email protected]) is a likely source (for both originals and reproductions)-------and will very likely be able to tell you of any other models for interchange. You've probably seen him at the big time gun shows----surrounded by tables full of grips.

I will check that out. I appreciate the info. Thanks

With just a little tweaking, round-butt J-frame grips will work.
