Hi all,
I've just joined. I'm hoping to learn about the 547 revolver chambered in 9mm. I don't know why, but I've got to have one.

Its a money saving thing . . . right. Since I reload 9mm by the bucket full.

Anyway, I'm new here, but have owned Smiths since I was a teenager. Current inventory includes:

1) nickel model 29
2) model 66
3) model686
4) model 340 PD
5) M&P 45

Thanks,

Don

Welcome to the forum. Buying a model 547 is gonna cost a bunch. They easily go for $800.00 and up. That is what I paid for my 3 inch 547.

They are definitely spendy. The 4 inch version is less common and will likely cost more than a 3 inch. I believe speedloaders for the 547 are pretty scarce.

I kind of lucked out when I bought mine for $650 OTD, the gun store I bought it from didn't know what it was.

K frame, IIRC, built for a French contract. Unique ejector system, no moon clips required, but sometimes problematic during ejection. If something breaks, no parts. Nice concept that has not been repeated by Smith or any other manufacturer. If I had to have a revolver in 9mm, I'd get a Ruger single action convertible. Enjoy the choices!
