Info on a model 36

Was wondering is these are the correct grips for this revolver and some other information. When was it made, how much is it worth?

A non-functional beater will probably bring $75-$100 while a clean and correct safe queen could hit the $1000 mark

You do not provide enough information for us to answer your questions more accurately accurately.

At the very least we would need to know the approximate serial number to be able to determine age. You can replace the last two or three number with XXXs if you have privacy concerns.

Those grips did not ship with the firearm. From age we can probably make a good guess at which grips it shipped with in that era.

Value is very dependent on condition, so we either need a statement from you on condition of more and better photos. How does the nickle look under the grips? Is there peeling or chipping? Is the finish original or has it been redone? Do you still have the box, paperwork and tools? Those all alter value as well.

Its not pinned, so its probably made after 1980. The grips are definitely after market. The hammer spur appears to be missing. Otherwise, it looks to be in pretty good shape. That's about all we can tell you without the serial number range.

I noticed that the hammer has been bobbed. That will cut down the value. The original grips were checkered (I'm no expert) so I would say those are not the original grips. If you post the first few numbers of the serial number someone will usually look up the birthdate. The model 36 is a great handgun but they have made so many that the value is held down. I have a 3" model 36 in nickel. I love the thing. I would never sell it.

Serial number is adk0148, nickel is in great shape even under the grips.

Considering I traded a mint 30-1 for it I'm starting to feel a little violated.. At the time I didn't know much about guns. Traded even for this, bet he's a happy guy.

Same here. Especially if I didn't have one already. Great carry gun. Hammer bob is good, practically but maybe not value wise.

I do love this 36 and I'm glad the 30-1 went to a real collector. All this from a $40 investment!! Yes just $40 bucks ��

If function is perfect I'd say in the $275 - $325 range around here. The incorrect grips and cut of hammer spur are the major loss of value. While original style grips are easy to find and won't break the bank, the hammers are getting pricy these days.
