I’m looking at a K model 15-3, 38 special, 4 inch barrel. Very good condition, no rust or pitting, slight blueing wear on muzzle, very minor drag mark on cylinder, adjustable rear sight. Serial # K999xxx.
Accurate, cylinder aligns and locks up tight, minimal spark visible between cylinder and barrel. Single action trigger is 2lbs. 4 ounces.
Any ideas on age / value?
Thanks

Adios,

Another poster has already mentioned age of this revolver. These comments deal more with the notion of value. You are looking at one of the most classic revolvers ever made. The K frame is of such dimensions and availability that it fits many hands and budgets. Ammunition, if you do already, or learn to, reload is readily available to you.. Even if you must purchase, the price is not bad.

If you live in a place where specialty +P 38 Special is available by mail or in person, then you can have what is almost the equivalent of a 357 magnum.. NOT for all-day/everyday shooting, but for special occasions.

I am a long-term fan of 38 special and the K frame. If such thoughts suit you well please let us know your decision.

Great revolvers. My 15-3 1974 serial number. I paid around $600 at a local auction a few years back.
